This book is regarding the status of women in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh, India. The women's status has been everybody's focus of attention in society. Status simply means the position which is being accorded in the society or a community. There are six tribes in West Kameng District i.e. Aka(Hrusso), Miji(Sajolang), Monpa, Sartang, Sherdukpen, and Bugun. The main objective of this work is to find out the socio-cultural, economic, and political status of six tribes of the study area. This book describes the role and responsibilities of both men and women in society. It is divided into seven chapters, which include an introduction, geo-environmental background, socio-cultural status, economic status, political status, government schemes, and conclusion. It delineated the immeasurable constraints faced by women and what are the various factors responsible for it. Especially in tribal society, both the men and women enjoy equal status, but some differences still existin society. Hence, this book is about the socio-cultural, economic, and political status of women in West Kamneg district of Arunachal Pradesh (India).

Dr.C.J.Rockpudu is born in Village Jerigaon and belongs to the Sartang tribe. Completed primary school from Government Middle School Jerigaon. Passed class X/XII from Govt.Hr.Sec.School Bomdila and also graduated from Government College Bomdila with Geography honors. She completed a Master's degree and Ph.D. from Rajiv Gandhi University, Itanagar.
