Conventional nonporous hydrogel with limitations of slow swelling and low loading capacities restrict its use in effective drug delivery. Superporous hydrogel (SPH) with high water absorption and swelling capacity was prepared by cross-linking polymerization. Characterization studies were performed by measurement of apparent density, porosity, swelling studies, mechanical strength studies, scanning electron microscopy analysis and FTIR studies. Produktbeschreibung
Characterization studies confirmed the formation of hydrogel with superporous structure and good swelling properties. The study helps in solvent selection for treatment of SPH to improve the characteristics that will lead to the modification of the SPH based gastric retention systems.
