When author Christine LaFever Schnegg came to the realization that her life and the life of her children was solely up to her, she gathered her thoughts and prayed. Christine had felt traumatic loss at a young age with the passing of her mother, but losing a husband is a much different kind of pain. It is not only a pain for yourself but also for your children. The anguish of being alone and a single parent is very heart-wrenching. Although Christine learned from her mother early on, some very important skills that would be the foundation of her strength.
