Autorenporträt
Cindy Groce spent much of her childhood playing in the woods behind her home in Asheville, North Carolina, climbing trees, making habitats for animals and using a vivid imagination to create a world of entertainment. In the process she developed an early desire to create something beautiful that would reflect the joy of nature and leave a positive imprint. Mrs. Groce lives with her husband in Asheville. The focus of her career and volunteer work through the years has centered on the education and development of children, families, and community. She has three daughters and six grandchildren. In the summers she conducts Camp in Mountains, a week-long adventure camp for her grandchildren. All of the photographs in "Hiding in Plain Sight" were taken by the author with a cell phone while hiking or biking in the mountains and trails of North and South Carolina and traveling in other parts of the country. In every photograph, the tree is unaltered and in its natural setting, simply a creation of nature.
