Bangladesh is a disaster prone country with Extreme weather events, such as high temperatures, droughts and floods, are already more frequent and severe, and have dire social, economic and ecological consequences. To reduce the effect of disasters on food supplies, livelihoods and economies, we must greatly increase adaptive capacity in agriculture - both to long-term climatic trends and to increasing variability - as an urgent priority. Therefore, there is a need to develop suitable strategies since traditional single crop production enterprises are subject to a high degree of risk and uncertainty because of seasonal, irregular and uncertain income and employment. Case studies on integrated farming system and pertinent strategies such as zone wise cultivation, saline and submergence resistance rice, modern food storage facilities, food for work program, appropriate technology based farming has been proved to be potential to eradicate all these constraints by not only solving mostof the existing economic and even ecological problems, but also provide means to ensure the overall national food security.
