Potato is the third and only the leading vegetable crop which could be considered as alternative source of major grain crops rice and wheat. Despite upward trend of food grain production in this country, she is looking for a emerging source food crop to combat the high race of population growth. The increased production of potato is largely depends upon the farmers' feeling, thinking and knowledge i.e. psychological state of mind- perception and their appropriate adoption of high yielding modern variety production technologies. Again, either perception or adoption of technologies by an individual is influenced by his characteristics to a great extent. Considering some constraints faced by the farmers, in order to plan and execute programs for increasing potato production.Hence, this book is to display correlates of perception and adoption of modern variety potato production technologies in a potential area of Bangladesh.

The author after completion his graduation on B.Sc.Ag.(Hons)from Bangladesh Agricultural University entered BCS(Administration). He did his MSS (Political Science),LLB (Law degree) from National university and PhD in Agriculture from University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. Now he holds a position of Deputy Secretary to the Govt. of Bangladesh.
