Autorenporträt
Amor is a two-time cancer survivor who was born and raised in an international community in Taiwan, where the Dominican nuns there engrained into her the vast importance of being the personification of her name, Amor, meaning Love in many languages. Her mother, Angela, also impressed into her the value of promoting peace and sharing love and joy. Since then, Amor has lived her life trying to represent her name as best she can with everyone. Before cancer, Amor was a successful human resources executive in the corporate world. She was also an active community volunteer with the Lions Club International branch in Foster City, CA where she lived. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013 and then ovarian cancer in 2016. She also suffered a serious staph infection as one of the treatment side effects. Amidst her many challenges, Amor was not fazed. Not only did she NOT dwell on her negative circumstances, she embraced life and found a higher purpose: a mission of life for life! She believes that she survived so that she can share her knowledge and wisdom, borne from experience with others and help them cope and continue living life, despite the disease. Thus, the creating of her first book, "Been There, Done That: Practical Tips & Wisdom from Cancer Survivors for Cancer Patients." Amor lives with in Penn Valley, California with her significant other Bill Stone and feels incredibly blessed to have her awesome daughter Catherine living not too far away. Words cannot adequately describe the gratitude she feels for the unconditional love and support of her siblings: Roman, Joy , Melody and Romy, Jr., and her many angels-on-earth, especially BFF Val, Sidonie, Marsha, Macy & Lucy who have been there for her through thick and thin. Amor believes her strong faith in God is her foundation, which gives her the strength and focus needed to thrive every day, come what may. She hopes that her book "Been There, Done That: Practical Tips & Wisdom from Cancer Survivors to Cancer Patients" will be just the first of many books to bring hope, enlightenment and support to all who need it.
