NFC m-payment solutions are likely to be the dominating technology in the field of proximity payments in the near future. However, its prevalence is still weak in most European countries. In particular, German mobile users turn out to be reluctant towards the adoption of this new technology. Conversely, the UK is substantially more advanced with regard to contactless payment. This study seeks to identify the key drivers of mobile users' intention to use NFC-based m-payment methods in the context of a cross-cultural comparison between the UK and Germany.
