This book, therefore has made commendable efforts in terms of bringing in highly relevant anecdotes expressing the consequences of displacement by those affected as a result of dam construction. The is marked by making use of a sound and relevant theoretical approach by taking into account the displacement risk model showing how this is pertinent to the problem under investigation. A major contribution of this work is to perceive displacement not only on the basis of physical relocation by describing how this could occur without entailing relocation. Themain objective of the study is to investigate the major social & economic consequences of the Tekeze dam on the local population inhabiting in WagHemra zone in Ethiopia.
