The hereby work has as its starting point the finding that, for the social world, the information basically means the content of any message, that the message is the logical subject of any act of communication, that the world is information. Communication models, pointed out by distinct features and functions, highlight aspects of mass communication, social representations related to media events, functions of the public opinion in the communication process, values and attitudes towards communication. Thus, there are achieved two complementary results: on the one hand, it is achieved an understanding of the various components of contemporary media and political reality, and on the other hand, it is achieved an understanding of a new epistemological vision of communication, as it is applied in a broader social processes reality. This perspective acquires new meanings and requires, imperatively, details and particular nuances regarding the media communication, which has imposed, through a theoretical and philosophical approach, an analysis of the role and functions that contemporary Romanian media fulfils, with particular emphasis on the different languages used.
