This work aims at investigating the causes of chipping on the engobe/glaze interface found on ceramic floor coating. This defect is found at the end of the production line and, in some cases, at the consumer's final part of a Braziliam Ceramic Company. To achieve the research's goal, the performance of the different structural layers of ceramic floor coating (substrate, engobe and glaze) were studied individually as a more precise appoach to accurate conclusions.

Andre Paschoal was born in Karlshure, Germany in 1981 and movedto Brazil 2 years after. He's graduated in Materials Engineeringin Federal University of Santa Catarina at 2006. Duringgraduation dedicated his studies on ceramic's process. Aftergraduation work with fusion pressure of aluminum and since 2007work with process management consulting.
