This award winning collection includes Kali's Lament, a series of narrative prose poems retelling the myth of Nala and Damayanti from the point of view of the spirit of the Kaliyuga, the demon Kali; the Antara Unleashed series which offers flashes of the life of the feisty Antara while City of Victory brings alive the richness and intrigue of the harem of King Krishnadevaraya in the 16th century. Born in 1956, former fashion model and copywriter, Anita Saran, is the author of several works including first novel Circe, published by Mojocastle Press, short story City of Victory - BBC Radio 4, Dolphin Girl and Other Stories - Har Anand, New Delhi, The Choosing - Solstice Publishing and the award winning novella Aditya, the Underwater Boy, a young adult science fiction novella. Anita lives in Bangalore with her 12 rescued dogs . Her passions, apart from writing, include fashion, spirituality and painting. Her paintings decorate the poems in this book. She has held four solo shows of her paintings, the last two at Chitrakala Parishad in 2022 and 2024. Her work has been featured at the Museum of Art and Photography (MAP) in Bangalore.
