Revision with unchanged content. Female Muslim immigrants in Germany and France are increasingly expe riencing challenges integrating into Western lifestyles. They have to adjust to occidental communities in which they try to incorporate their own traditions and values. They experience feelings of belonging and rejection at the same time. My studies have concentrated on the adaptation of Muslim Women in Germany and France. Although many similarities exist between those two groups, it is a must to examine each one separately. In order to understand Islamic female immigrants' quest for a new identity, it have been beneficial not only to look at the socio-cultural aspects of their lives, but also to examine the great influence immigrant literature and mass media have on them. Hopefully, studies such as mine will be a positive step in the direction of a society that will be more aware of the deeply rooted problems of racism and sexism.
