We need to believe that our atmosphere is changing- uneven climate patterns will draw us to the cliff of alarming situation of global warming. GHG have to be mitigated to the possible extent by strict actions. Our functional role should involve implementation of new approaches to improve carbon absorption of vegetation and soil, to reduce the emission of carbon, to enhance the Soil Organic Matter (SOC) and to extend the storage time of carbon in soil. The efficient role of soil microbes in this aspect cannot be neglected. This work is about the quantification of mycorrhizal association and glomalin content in seven bamboo species. The study also addresses the activities of soil microbial community in terms of moisture, respiration, enzymes (dehydrogenase and phosphatase), carbon, aggregation and their inter- relationship besides their possible role in carbon sequestration. This study would be useful for the researchers and other professionals who are involved in the process of carbon sequestration.
