This study is about conditioning in EPB Machines. It is a general introduction of mechanized tunneling especially with earth pressure balanced shields and the problem of its limited range of application and how it could be increased with soil conditioning, also the meaning of conditioning parameters, when do we use them and why? At the same time, giving a practical example of tunneling in soft ground, using ground-conditioning agents in a land that had never dug a tunnel before, or used a TBM or even used soil-conditioning agents in its ground. It is about limestone, special limestone, Simsima Limestone, where Karsting is a main problem. The Book gives an impression about the challenges that occurred in Qatar, for five months, while tunneling. Finally, all the data concerning ground conditioning on the TBMs used are documented to be used for analyzing and consumption calculations on two TBMs used in The Green Line Underground Project in Doha Qatar 2014. A view in the unique geology of this region, which is planning for a great project where 23-26 TBMs (7.10 m diameter) are going to bore the ground and build a huge rare metro system to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
