Globally, coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has been identified as the cause of an outbreak of respiratory illness. Cost-benefit analysis, health beliefs, and mitigation strategies of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ogun State, Nigeria have been examined and assessed due to its effects on the economy and individuals' lives. Data on cost-benefit, health belief model, challenges, and mitigating strategies on COVID-19 have been used to establish the fact that COVID-19 brought an unprecedented threat to the economy and the quality of life. Though the cost explicitly might be unbearable implicitly the benefits outweighed the loss during the lockdown. Also, the results indicated that the government in the study area did not provide palliative measures for the households during the lockdown which affected the quality of people's lives. Furthermore, the acceptance of precautionary actions was precarious to envision the headlong spread of COVID-19. Ample and accurate risk insight for COVID-19 was aprerequisite to facilitate the exposure of COVID-19 safety procedures. This work has shed more light on the cost-benefit analysis, health belief model, and mitigating strategies of COVID-19 in Ogun State.
