This work deals with some biosystematical studies on certain species of the family lamiaceae (Labiatae) in Egypt. A taxonomic revision of the genus Teucrium L. was carried out. The distribution of trichomes on different plant organs were also surveyed. Leaf architecture, diversity and the range of variation present among a total of 34 species, including 8 subspecies selected from the member species of Lamiaceae in Egypt were investigated. This work is the first to use RAPD marker to assess the genetic similarity among the four species of the genus Teucrium in Egypt. The results revealed the presence of 5 Teucrium species in Egypt, including 2 subspecies and 4 varieties.
