The 21st Century is witnessing a high upsurge in information and communication technology (ICT) development. ICT innovations have facilitated Man's livelihood, especially with the emergence of facilities like computer systems which now manage a colossal chunk of human activity. Banking, communication, as well as research are now realized with the aid of computer network systems; the most popular of which is undoubtedly the Internet. However, alongside these unquestionable advantages to society, the Internet has also exposed humanity to new forms of crime. Unlike traditional crimes, the attachment of these new forms of crime to the Internet makes them very sophisticated and rather too tricky to easily apprehend, and constitutes very slippery ground for law makers and law enforcement authorities. Faced with this situation, Cameroon as well as the international community have come up with legal frameworks targeted towards apprehending, prosecuting and punishing perpetrators of such unlawful conduct. However, as the Internet constantly witnesses innovations, so too will cybercrime; a fact which renders the struggle against this new form of crime one with a hardly foreseeable end.
