This study focuses on the concepts of similarities and differences considered within the framework of cognitive linguistics and its understanding of mental construal as our ability to form alternate conceptualisations. Aleksandra Majdzi¿ska is a lecturer at the Institute of English Studies at the University of Lodz (Poland). She holds a PhD in Linguistics. Her research interests include cognitive linguistics, mental imagery and perspective, word-image interactions, and cognitive stylistics.
