The existence of a speech community is demonstrated only when it is able to express its literature and experiences in its own language. Thus literature can be seen as the sum total of human experience reflected through language. In using literature students are significantly benefited in terms of language skills, raising cultural awareness, and changing views towards native and target societies. Therefore, the book provides the application of Oromo literature in Oromo language teaching with its function. Hence, literature was treated as a means in language teaching rather than teaching it as a subject in the book.
Autorenporträt
Dr. Alemitu Oli has obtained her PhD degree in Literature in 2016. Since then she has teaching different literature courses in Jimma University. She is the author of different articles published in reputable journals and the Vice Dean of College, Social Science and Humanities at Jimma University.
