Earth`s only 3 percentage area is covered by built -up but have high significant climate and environmental consequences. Since last three - four decades in Russia, there are many changes in land use and urban growth, which has resulted in vast ecological and environmental issues, both in urban and peri-urban areas. In this context, urban growth and land use changes are considered one of the central components in current strategies for managing natural resources and monitoring environmental issues such as decreased air quality, increased runoff and subsequent flooding, increased local temperature, deterioration of water quality, etc. Earlier studies shows that main cause of urban growth is good living condition with all facilities in cities in terms of economy, job opportunity, living standards, physical conditions, access to government services and facilities, political situations and government plans and policies. This book will present a long time series dynamic monitoring and analytical study on the processes of urban expansion and urbanization.
