Alexander Pocklington began his professional life as an award-winning engineer, but in the mid-2010s he decided to take up his primary passion, naval history, on a more substantial basis. He started and continues to run the naval history YouTube channel Drachinifel, works with many museums and museum ships, and is also working on several books and on furthering the science of ship preservation. He lives in England.
