The aim of this book is an attempt to discuss the motif of silence and paralysis in two novels by D.H. Lawrence: The White Peacock and The Lady Chatterley's Lover. These two motifs are linked with the themes of a marriage, a motherhood and an unfulfilled spouse, lover or a parent. The introduction reveals the information about the works of Lawrence. The first chapter is devoted to The White Peacock, where the main characters deal with miscommunication. The second chapter is devoted to The Lady Chatterley's Lover and its themes of silence, and paralysis.
