Bottle gourd or white flowered gourd [Lagenaria siceraria (Mol.) Standl.] is a cosmopolitan cucurbitaceous vegetable grown successfully in tropical and sub-tropical regions. It is extensively grown around world and is cultivated throughout the year. Its productivity is quite low and the crop is known to suffer from several diseases. Among them, powdery mildew is an important one. It has also been observed in moderate to severe form and it's epidemic cause complete failure of the crop and its elimination from nature is problematic and challenging. It is necessary to carryout field studies for effective management of the disease. In recent era new chemicals are available in market with less toxicity remained to be tried for management of disease. Hence, field evaluation of natural products and fungicides to manage the disease were very much informative with acceptability of quality product at all the level. It is high time to reduce the use of fungicides by partial application of natural products as an integrated management. So, in this book results of effective management of powdery mildew through resistance varieties, natural products and fungicides were described.

The author completed his BSc in Agriculture from Anand Agricultural University and Master's degree in Plant Pathology from S. D. Agricultural University. The author did his PhD in Plant Pathology from Navsari Agricultural University. Presently he is working as an Ad. Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant Pathology, SDAU, Gujarat, India.
