The book recounts the true story of how a kindergarten teacher helped their son connect with his able-bodied peers. Sharing his disability inspired understanding and inclusion - it allowed the other kids to empathize. Kids are kind but they need to understand. Today, there is no discussion in classrooms about differences in ability and by sharing this story the author hopes to raise awareness of the need to go beyond accommodations to Accommodations AND UNDERSTANDING!
