Toxoplasmosis is a zoonotic disease that occurs worldwide and is caused by the protozoan parasite Toxoplasma gondii. In the present study, we report the association of low socioeconomic status and seropositivity of Toxoplasmosis in women of Lahore city. ELIZA technique was used to determine the IgG antibodies. Serological test was performed on 83 women blood samples, among these 24% women showed specific toxoplasma IgG antibodies and while 76% women were seronegative. Women belong to rural areas have more prevalence (35%) than those belong to urban areas (6.25%) because of lower educational level, poor hygienic conditions and lower income status. Monthly income of professional women and their husband's were divided into three groups. prevalence was high (36%) in lower income group (Rs. 5000-12,499) in second group (Rs. 12,500-19,999) seropositivity was (21%) and in third group (Rs. 20,000-27499) seoprevalence were only (14%) in higher income group.
