After this, all the Rotary delegates, approximately 500, attended church the following Sunday at the Metropolitan Church of Agrinio to show the world that Rotarians are good Christians. However, the Metropolitan of Acarnania read an encyclical directed at the Rotary from the pulpit. It was like scalding water on the heads of the Rotarians. They were disturbed, shouted, and shrieked, and many fled from the hall as though possessed, protesting. Some even cursed the Metropolitan with unspeakable insults. These, then, were the good Christians! After the conference's dissolution, the Rotarians of Agrinio found themselves in a difficult position. The priests warned them to repent and return to the Church because they would have nothing to do with them. But even the faithful Christians stopped having dealings or relationships with Rotarians. ... So, reader, we are handing you the truth about Rotary in this little booklet!
