The study showed that mixed virus infections are associated with higher disease severity and yield losses than single virus infections. Control of these cowpea viruses should focus on breeding for resistance to virus combinations since most of the viruses occurred naturally in singles and mixtures. Mr Arinaitwe Abel studied in Makerere University where he was awarded Degree of BSc Agriculture in 2005 and Master of Science in crop science in 2008. He has lectured at Bishop Stuart University and Mountains of the Moon University in the field of Plant pathology. He is currently working as a research scientist with NARO in Uganda
