Banana (Musa sp) is a monocotyledonous herb belongs to family Musaceae. There are two type of genome present in banana Musa acuminata (Genome A) and Musa balbisiana (Genome B).The species acuminata alone or in combination with balbisiana in the progenitor may be diploid (2n = 22), triploid (3n = 33) or tetraploid (4n = 44). The genomes or varieties under the genomes are vary with some qualitative characteristics of male bud and the male flower and bract persistence has considerable diagnostic value but is of little taxonomic significance (Simmonds, 1954). So, identification or grouping of those varieties is necessary. Acquiring knowledge on male bud could help to evaluate relationship among the different genotypes according to male bud character.
