This book provides the basics of electromagnetic waves, radar system and antennas. The current interest in these areas is due to the growth of wireless communications, optical fibers, and information technology. Communications, antenna, radar, and microwave engineers must deal with the generation, transmission, and reception of electromagnetic waves. Fundamentals of antennas including wire and aperture antennas in addition to their applications. This book is also appropriate for first year graduate students who would like to specialize in the above topics. The book contains seven chapters and can also be used by engineers and practicing scientists who want a quick review that covers most of the basic concepts and includes many practical examples.

Dr. Asaad Al-Hindawi earned his B.Sc. in electrical engineering from University of Baghdad, Baghdad, Iraq. He received M.Sc. in communication engineering from University of Technology, Baghdad, Iraq and Ph. D. in radio engineering from Varna Technical University, Varna, Bulgaria. Currently he is Professor in Sulaimani Polytechnic University, Iraq.
