Phosphorus (P) is growth limiting nutrient and deficient in most soils of the world. Research was conducted on five soil series of Pakistan differing in soil properties. Phosphorus adsorption isotherms were developed and fitted to Langmuir and Freundlich equations to describe P adsorption process. The study suggests that the oxides of iron and aluminum are the main adsorbent at low P concentration, normally applied in agricultural soils and soil CaCO3 play role at high P level.
