After nearly a century, the little community officially incorporated in 1957. Images of America: Azle tells the story of numerous pioneer families and their schools, churches, and early businesses. Today, Azle is a close-knit community with various social and civic organizations, as well as parades and jamborees.

The Azle Historical Museum began in the bicentennial year of 1976. Two years later, the museum moved from the second floor of the oldest building on Main Street--the original Walker Drug--to the vacated Jim Nation Building right across the street. Images were provided from the museum's collection, board members, and others. Rex Ballauer, president of the Azle Historical Museum, and J'Nell Pate, secretary, wrote the text.
