This book is written for students enrolled on media production courses in further and higher education which include modules in radio broadcasting. It is particularly well suited to students in the United Kingdom who are taking BTEC Nationals and Higher Nationals, OCR Cambridge Technicals, or similar post-school vocational media programmes. The emphasis is upon the practical issues that arise when you, the student, are experiencing for the first time the challenge of working as a member of a team to launch and run a broadcast or internet radio station, and you are being assessed on how well you do. The author taught and managed further education sector media courses for over twenty years. For several of these years he led student cohorts undertaking their major project: to launch and run a student radio station. He has also worked as an External Verifier for BTEC Nationals in Media, and is a Visiting Moderator for OCR.
