Bonnie Shumway has lived in Mexico most of her life. She graduated from Mexico Academy and Central School and the State University of New York at Geneseo. After 10 years away, she returned to Mexico to teach first grade at Mexico Elementary. In 1992, she became the Mexico historian and has enjoyed sharing the history of the town and the people who lived here with the community.
