The level of yield heterosis expressed between testers and lines was generally high enough to use them in hybrid breeding work. This study has identified some promising hybrids with better grain yielding potential and had good other related traits based on location specific and across location performance. Hence, the promising crosses can be utilized for future breeding as well as direct use in production.

The author was employed by Ethiopian institute of Agricultural Research and assigned to Kulumsa Research Center since 1999. He served as assistant Researcher-II in the Highland Maize Research Section. He joined the School of Graduate at Alemaya University in October 2002 for the degree of masters of sciences and graduated in 2004.
