One of the main aims of this book is to contribute to the development of skills and attitudes within readers and researcher that will better equip them to face the challenges of real-world design problems. There are already many exciting application examples of Neural Network techniques in the established fields of electrical, mechanical, and mechatronics engineering. We have only to look around in today's highly automated society to see the increasing use of Neural Network systems in the many artifacts available to the domestic consumer market and to industry. However, there are currently many challenging problems that could benefit from wider exposure to the applicability of these methodologies, and the systematic systems-oriented basis inherent in the application of Neural Network techniques. As such, the material is useful to graduate students and researchers who want a broader view of the different modeling algorithms paradigm. However, it is also intended to be a practical textbook for those engineers in industry who find themselves involved in a project dealing with thermofluid systems and would like to have more-or-less self-taught refresher course.
