History is a kind of rumor mill and historians are usually known as the gossipers of archives. Above all, if the matter is an unclear woman s private archive, how can a historian resist changing such bias? This book is a little effort to understand the invisible female side of Turkish society during its cultural alteration period. A. Leman Karaosmano lu who was the shadowy member of a well-known family created by the world of her male relatives, endeavored to protect her family s reminiscence like an archivist. However, how a researcher can penetrate into this privacy and her female individuality? If we evaluate Leman Han m as a historical subject, how much can we put her own separate individuality into history? Within the chaotic modification of society, she seems to be an independent but created model. In that way, the means of feminist biography can be a guide for us and inevitably, the fictional nature of writing biography can transform the biographer into her(him)self.
