In contemporary societies, it makes sense to think of people as individuals. We have individual bodies, minds, aims, and dreams. But in very meaningful ways, being human is not being an individual anymore. It is about belonging to a particular group of people. "Who we are" is a very simple question but it is defined by the social networks and communities to which we belong. This new sense of belonging has created new kind of identities which is hybrid identities.

Born in 1989 in Mugla, Turkey. Currently a research assistant at Bitlis Eren University. I finished my Bachelor degree at the Afyon Kocatepe University in 2012, master¿s degree in Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Southampton, 2015. My research interests include: a sense of belonging, human rights, Postmodern Sociology Theorists.
