We assume that the Government has the primary responsibility to promote the education of all Congolese children nationwide since education is the basis of development. Unfortunately, we are witnessing the increase of the number of children who do not go school anymore due to multiple reasons; some of them are wandering in the streets, begging or doing some hard labours in order to survive. All these facts inspired us to conduct a study on school attrition or school dropout in Goma town.

Ben Boyenge graduated in English Literature and African Culture Department in Goma Town in North Kivu province in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He taught English language to high school students at many schools. He also worked for the United Nations Organization mission in DR Congo in civil affairs section in Goma.
