Mobile Ad hoc networks (MANET) contain a group of mobile nodes such as laptop, cell phones and other handheld devices without any access point. It is a flexible region where the nodes can be added or removed from the network at any time. Reliable route selection is a major issue in MANET. Achieving fault tolerance and more reliability are the biggest tasks in the network. From the survey, existing schemes fail to balance link tolerance and node reliability during route maintenance process. In this book, the concept of Fuzzy based Fault Tolerant Routing Protocol for ad hoc networks was introduced to achieve path tolerability and high network lifetime. Here network model is designed to support mobility and scalability. The issues of multipath routing were addressed and introduced the mesh based multicast routing based on path reliability metric. The calculation of fault tolerability was estimated to overcome issues of path failures. The work was simulated and analyzed in terms of node reliability rate, node stability ratio, end to end delay and control overhead.
