the book entitled geochemical characterization for pedogenic assessment of major soils of India comprises four distinct case studies specially :hot semiarid cotton zone of shrink swell soils of Yavatmal district maharashtra, laterite associated soils of east coast Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh, high altitude soils of Shillong plateau , Meghalaya and rice growing hydric soils of India. The text book is specially designed and give broad view for learners who have keen interest on geochemical interpretations for assessing pedogenic processes.Future studies of elemental chemistry are useful to develop landscape models that will aid not onlyin our understanding of geochemical distribution but will also function asa methodology for developing models for an agroecological region in soil survey programmes.
