Water is necessary for all living being. It is solitary the most essential constituent for the sustenance of mankind. To improve quality of drinking water various methods are used by people but all methods uses energy . Water Distillation using solar energy is a vital technique in achieving distilled water and it the cheapest method. In this work, comparative study between single slope solar still and hybrid solar still is carried out. A hybrid solar system is fabricated by using single basin solar still and thermosiphon heat pipes for different water depth using experimental and CFD tool. - A solar still of 1000 mm length, 500 mm width and 26 ° of slope angle is fabricated. - Latent heat storage and sensible heat storage materials have been compared for achieving best productivity of solar still. - Thermosiphon heat pipe is installed in solar still to achieving hot water along with distilled water. - The metallic chips, jute cloth, nano fluids and the paraffin wax is used as enhancement techniques - Hybrid solar still is designed and validated using numerical and experimental techniques and novel work is done by using unique combination of nano fluid in basin of solar still.
