Satellite images and Content Based Image Retrieval are interesting topics of research since years. Specifically, CBIR is on developing technologies for bridging the semantic gap that currently prevents wide-deployment of image content-based search engines. Image search engines currently in use are mostly rely on human generated data, such as text annotations. It is time-consuming as well as error prone. To overcome drawbacks of text based image retrieval, Content based image retrieval is introduced where retrieval of images is totally dependent on the features of images. In this Book an Image retrieval technique based on Modified Block Truncation Coding Combined with Kekre Transform Patterns is proposed. The technique is implemented of on database of satellite images. To test the performance of the technique, the objects are segregated from the same satellite images and fired as a query object. According to the proposed technique the most similar object blocks will be retrieved from the satellite images. From the results of CBIR on normal images and satellite images, performance of the technique can be compared and concluded.
