Energy supply security is one of the major issues pertinent to energy. To offset this particular issue we should not jeopardize the energy resource that are thought to be in limited quantity in our mother earth. Also environmental concern is another pressing problem that are always concomitant with energy generation and use. Thus the notion of clean energy generation and energy efficiency are becoming popular day by day. Hydropower is one of the major form of clean energy that harness freely flowing water, and are also postulated to be a renewable resource. It therefore becomes imperative to become acquainted with these kind of energies, and at the same time promote and practice energy efficiency behavior. We will therefore be able to advocate sustainable energy. Energy efficiency can be practiced by power plant operator within their generation and, transmission and distribution infrastructure, as well as within the consumption side. Supply side management (SSM) and demand side management (DSM) are tools for plant operators to influence the energy use in the electricity supply chain, which has been discussed holistically in this book.
