Vanessa Lyman Withers enlisted in the U.S Army after high school. Upon comletionof that enlistment, she attended the Ohio State University and earned a bachelor'sdegree in health education followed by a bachelor's degree in nursing from CapitalUniversity. Post college, Vanessa once again served in the military as an officer inthe army reserves. She then went back to the Ohio State University and earned amaster's degree in public health nursing. Vanessa worked as a school nurse for elevenyears. Throught that experience, she has come to believe that much of the successof children depends on positive choices made early in life.
