Produktbeschreibung
A few weeks after her return to Pecos, Texas, following a three-thousand-mile overland journey to Panama, Brenilda R. Bauer sat down to write a letter relating some of the episodes of the trip to some close friends in California. Using a few notes she had written on the road, together with some photographs she and her husband had taken during the two weeks en route, Brenilda began composing a short description of several of the more curious events that had occurred in each of the countries they visited. Eventually, the short letter evolved into a short story, and she was encouraged by her friends and family members to consider publication of her descriptive narrative. This slender volume of both narrative and photographs reflects both the high and low points of an overland trek taken by Brenilda and her husband down through Central America to the Isthmus of Panama in the summer of 2009.

Autorenporträt
A native of the Republic of Panama, Brenilda R. Bauer was born in the province of Chiriqui and grew up in a family of six brothers and four sisters in a small village near the frontier in Costa Rica. After finishing high school in Panama, Brenilda attended Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge. While a student at LSU, she also took courses at the University of Innsbruck in Austria and graduated from LSU with a bachelor of arts degree with a major in history and a minor in English. Subsequently, she moved to West Texas, where she enrolled at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, earning a master of arts degree in history. Presently, Brenilda resides with her husband, Bruce, and five hopelessly spoiled cats in a former restaurant known as the Best Café in his hometown of Pecos, Texas, from which they occasionally travel to and from Panama overland and by air.
