An in-depth engineering analysis of the twin-cylinder motorcycles produced by Veloce Ltd: the Roarer, the Model O and the LE. The book looks at the design features that are common to all three twins, as well as the design influences of the LE. Although development of the LE was flawed, the honesty and ingenuity of the design is duly recognised.

Brian Agnew was employed at Newcastle University from 1984, teaching and undertaking research in thermodynamics and automotive engineering. Prior to retiring in 2015, he was a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a member of ASME and SAE. Brian has written over 200 technical papers and two well-read book chapters, as well as contributing articles in the LE club magazine. Having been a serial Velocette motorcycle owner since the 1960s, he has owned nearly every model from the 1940s, and rebuilt every model of the LE range. He is a long term member of the Velocette Owners Club and the LE Club, and was at one time Chair of the Northumbrian Section of the VOC. Ivan Rhodes is considered to be "Mr Velocette" by many in the vintage motorcycle scene. Ivan has prepared and ridden machines of all types, and competed in trials, grass-track and road racing, including the Isle of Man TT. He was instrumental in the development of the vintage racing scene, is a past President of the Vintage Motorcycle Club, and is President of the Velocette Owners Club. Ivan's speciality has always been the overhead camshaft Velocette models, in particular the KTT. He was fortunate enough to be in a position to acquire a wide range of machines and components from around the world, when interest in old bikes was waning. Consequently, he has built up an interesting collection of Hall Green machines, including the Roarer and the Model O. Ivan ran a successful family business called "Rhodes Barrelling Services" that offered metal finishing services to the engineering industry, including companies such as Rolls-Royce and several involved in Formula One racing.
