If you are seeking good reason for godly living, a study of the three letters to Timothy and Titus will supply you with rich theological motives. They remind us that God himself has appeared in human history to show us how to live. These letters also remind us that Christ covets a peculiar people for himself. Godliness is to be shared by the whole Christian community. Christ expects us to be more than a motley crew of patched up individual sinners. We are called to be a redeemed community with a corporate life that reflects God's goodness and grace. Living Today with an Eye for Eternity follows the Luminaire Studies patter of recording The Text, identifying the literary form and train of thought in The Flow and Form of the Text, exploring and expounding on this passage in The Text Explained, building a bridge between the original contexts of 1 & 2 Timothy, Titus and our own day in the Application, Teaching/Preaching Points and provoking reflection in the Personal Reflection questions. Luminaire Studies are designed for the discerning reader and student of the Scriptures. Written in a narrative style, the material is suitable for personal study or group interaction.
