DC Power systems are widely present in our lives. In example, DC power supplies are constantly used in commercial electronics products, VRMs are present in almost any microprocessor applications, and in general, DC regulation systems are extensively used in research, industrial and domestic applications. Switching converters are the most used solutions due to their improved efficiency and reduced cost. But the commonly adopted control techniques for those devices are based on analog-circuitry due to the complex challenges involved in designing digital control approaches for such non-linear systems. This book contains modeling techniques, control approaches and power electronics devoted to digital control of switching power converters intended for reducing the implementation cost and integration space. Such topics are addressed by formal analyses, using simulation results and experimental validations. This book is intended for researchers and students with basic power electronics and control knowledge, but who are novices in digital control of power converters. Scientist interested in industrial power electronics and non-linear modeling and control may also find this book useful.
