Amid World War II, the course of history took a sharp left when Port Chernabog, an angel, took it upon himself to smite Germany's Nazi military from the face of the earth. Seward, a young reporter, has no objections, especially when the angel himself grants the man a secretary position. Yet through this position, Seward discovers things about himself and the world around him that he would have never considered before. Can he metamorphose himself, or will he crumble under the weight of the raven's will? "Dollhouse" creeps up in succession, through the eyes of Chao Li, the divorced mother of Susie Li. Earl's Toys and Memorabilia sold some run-of-the-mill toys in its past, but something about Mary, a patchwork rag doll, cast the light of workaday toil into the thick umber of envy. Survival is not a given. With the finish line in sight, "Born" thrusts Alphonse headfirst into his tile flooring, cracking his skull open and sparking an earthquake soon after. These transgressions against the physical plane do not go unpunished, as Alphonse soon comes to find that there is more to his safety than meets the eye. It is up to him to put together these enigmas and dispel the entropic being residing within him.
